There are a few things that are confusing and I have two questions.
1.) If I accept a job and the item is not located in the store suggested do I just cancel the job or can I take a picture of the shelf, where it should be, and take a picture with a thumbs down and submit it? That appears in one of the I Am A Field Agent youtube.com videos, however, in the new version Field Agent FAQ's, it states, just to cancel .
2.) Many of the Scavanger Jobs seem to state that you can look for the product in other stores too, not only the store suggested in the job, but a different store altogether. The main purpose is just to find the product and it doesn't matter what store you find it in, especially if you are not uploading the information to the store suggested. Is this true?

Good questions! Complicated answers.... So bear with me Every job is different... they have SOME similarities but they do vary. When I first started, thumbs down was always the alternate photo but that's not the case anymore. Now they may ask you to take a pic of something completely different. The best thing to do is read the alternate photo directions carefully... if the requested item wasn't there, taking the correct alternate photo WILL BE the difference between being paid and not being paid. Now... throw all that out the window when dealing with scavenger hunt jobs! For those job they are looking for a particular UPC (and they don't even have the whole UPC, just the middle 10). They do not have alternate photo instructions. Personally, I wouldn't even accept these jobs unless you had the product in your hand bc they are REALLY difficult to find; taking a bunch and not being able to find them will ruin your agent score. I am trying to do Scavanger jobs and my score is going down. I went to Walmart today on a Scavenger job, looking for a beer product, which was not in the store. I asked a sales associate and he couldn't find it. He believes that Walmart does not carry it. I carefully took 12 alternate pictures and described my situation in the correct boxes, answered all the questions and uploaded it. I was docked 2 points. Frustrating! What to do? Email Field Agent?
The directions are not clear. They say that Walmart is only a suggested retailer. Does that mean I can go to another retailer to look for the product? It, also, says that if you can't find the product then cancel. So either way, if I reserve a job, can't find the product and I cancel it or take alternate photos w/ description, & upload, I will have points taken off. I guess that means you must be sure to find the product before you reserve the job. That's alot of looking cuz there are alot of jobs where the product is not in the store. Wasting time appears to be a goal.

First, STOP accepting them (and I mean that in a nice way); if your score drops to 75, will you be locked out of the app (FOR EVER)! The SH jobs are the only jobs where you HAVE to find the product in order to get paid. This article www.imafieldagent.com/2012/11/scavenger-hunt-jobs.html explains why we have these jobs.

I don’t accept the job until I have the item. Eliminates most of these issues.
